Heart study tests which imaging tool leads to better stent results

NCT ID NCT03394079

Summary

This study compares two imaging methods used during heart stent procedures to see which one leads to better long-term results. Doctors will use either optical coherence tomography (OCT) or intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) to guide stent placement in 2008 patients with blocked heart arteries. The main goal is to see if OCT-guided procedures work as well as IVUS-guided ones in preventing future heart problems related to the treated artery.
