Summary
This study tested a new needle that uses special light imaging (OCT) to help doctors see the different layers of the belly wall during laparoscopic surgery. 12 adults having laparoscopic surgery took part. The goal was to see if the needle could safely and accurately identify fat, muscle, and other layers to make the first cut safer.
