Heart hole device under watch: new study tracks safety in 50 patients

Summary
This study follows about 50 people of any age who receive a special device to close a hole in the muscular part of the heart's lower chambers. The device is placed through a tube in a blood vessel, avoiding open-heart surgery. Researchers will check for serious side effects and confirm the hole stays closed for one year after the procedure.
