First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study followed 80 adults with severe obesity who were scheduled for weight-loss surgery and already taking blood pressure medicine. Researchers used blood tests and questionnaires to check if patients were actually taking their medication as prescribed. The goal was to understand how often people skip their heart medicines and what factors might lead to that, so doctors can better manage heart risks before surgery.
