Summary

This study looked at how gut bacteria might influence metabolism in young people aged 15 to 21. Researchers measured how the body processes fats and a substance called acetate, which is produced by gut bacteria. The goal was to better understand the link between gut health and obesity, not to test a treatment. 38 participants completed the study at Yale University.
