Researchers check if patients actually take their pills before surgery

NCT ID NCT07441304

Summary

This study followed 80 people with severe obesity who were scheduled for weight-loss surgery. The goal was to understand how well they took their prescribed blood pressure medications and how their other heart-related health risks were managed by their doctors in the months leading up to surgery. Researchers used blood tests and patient interviews over several visits to track medication use and identify reasons why some people might not take their pills as directed.
