First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is testing a special blend of amino acids (protein building blocks) to see if it can help prevent or reduce confusion (delirium) in older adults aged 60+ who are hospitalized with infections. About 60 people will take part: 20 will drink the blend twice daily for up to 4 days, 20 will get standard hospital care, and 20 will be non-confused controls. The goal is to see if the drink improves mental clarity.
