Milk donors get a diet boost to help preemies' brains
NCT ID NCT07042009
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving milk donors simple nutrition guides can increase the omega-3 fat DHA in their breast milk. DHA is vital for baby brain development, but donor milk often lacks enough. About 60 new mothers from a UK milk bank will try the guides and have their milk and diet checked. The goal is to improve donor milk quality for preterm infants.
