Simple tests could flag which seniors face highest risk after gut surgery
NCT ID NCT07374055
Summary
This study aims to find out if simple nutrition checklists and a blood test can predict which patients aged 65 and older are most likely to have serious complications after gastrointestinal surgery. Researchers are comparing three different scoring methods to see which one works best. The goal is to help doctors identify high-risk patients before surgery so they can plan better care.
