Simple blood test may predict surgery risks for seniors
NCT ID NCT07374055
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at whether three easy-to-use tools—a blood test and two nutrition questionnaires—can help predict serious problems after stomach or bowel surgery in people aged 65 and older. Researchers will follow 200 patients to see if these tests can identify who is at higher risk for complications or death. The goal is to help doctors better prepare and care for older surgery patients.
