Summary
This study tested whether daily protein and fish oil supplements could help cancer patients maintain their weight and muscle mass while undergoing chemotherapy. Researchers enrolled 31 cancer patients and some healthy volunteers to compare how their bodies processed nutrients. Patients took supplements at home for 10 weeks during treatment while researchers measured changes in muscle strength, gut function, and metabolism.
