Food as medicine: can a Pre-Surgery diet stop muscle wasting in seniors?
NCT ID NCT07262034
Summary
This study is testing whether personalized nutrition advice given before surgery can help older adults (aged 60-90) keep their muscle mass. Muscle loss is common in older patients and can lead to worse recovery after surgery. Researchers will measure muscle mass in 62 patients before and after they receive the nutrition guidance to see if it makes a difference.
