Back pressure during labor may ease pain without drugs

NCT ID NCT07371039

First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests a simple, drug-free method: a nurse applies pressure to the lower back (sacral area) during contractions for women in active labor. Sixty pregnant women will be split into two groups—one gets the pressure, the other gets usual care. Researchers will measure pain levels and how satisfied mothers feel with their birth experience.
