First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests a nurse-led program to reduce stress and improve sleep for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The program includes lowering noise, adjusting lights to match day and night, keeping a comfortable temperature, limiting visitors at night, and organizing care to avoid waking patients. About 68 awake and alert adults will take part, with one group receiving the program and the other standard care. Researchers will measure stress and sleep quality using questionnaires.
