This study tested whether having a dedicated nurse coordinator helps patients stick to a recovery program after colorectal surgery. About 200 adults having planned major colorectal surgery took part. The nurse coordinator guided patients through the recovery steps, and researchers measured how well they followed the plan and their quality of life.
