Simple cuff procedure may boost heart health in heart failure patients

NCT ID NCT07365501

First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests a simple, noninvasive procedure called remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) in 48 sedentary adults with suspected heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Participants in the intervention group will have a blood pressure cuff inflated and deflated on their arm in cycles, while the control group receives no treatment. Researchers will measure various blood vessel and heart function parameters before, right after, and up to 24 hours later to see if RIPC improves vascular health.
