First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a collagen-based skin substitute to standard negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) helps heal deep wounds faster than NPWT alone. It included 104 adults with full-thickness wounds that had not healed for at least 4 weeks. Researchers measured wound size changes over 7 weeks and checked tissue samples for healing signs.
