Researchers question if new cancer staging rules fit all regions
NCT ID NCT07088861
Summary
This study looks back at the medical records of over 1,400 patients with nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) from parts of China where the disease is less common. The goal is to see if a recently updated system for classifying the cancer's stage (the 9th edition AJCC/UICC system) accurately predicts patient survival in these areas. By comparing it to the old system, researchers hope to improve how doctors plan personalized treatment for NPC patients outside of high-risk regions.
