First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This completed study looked at 123 adults in Guadeloupe with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), a condition that narrows leg arteries and raises heart attack risk. Researchers wanted to see if newer risk factors like HbA1c (a blood sugar marker) and others are linked to more severe disease below the knee. The goal was to better understand why this form of PAD is common in people of African descent.
