Sticky patch could be key to fighting opioid crisis after common surgery

NCT ID NCT07461506

Summary

This study is testing a new patch called NeuroCuple, which uses nanotechnology, to see if it can effectively manage pain after wisdom teeth removal. The main goal is to see if using this patch can help patients feel less pain and need fewer opioid painkillers, which carry a risk of addiction. About 120 healthy adults having their wisdom teeth removed will wear either the real patch or a look-alike placebo patch for two days to compare results.
