Nosebleed showdown: which treatment hurts less?
NCT ID NCT07421622
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a numbing injection in the mouth (greater palatine foramen block) causes less pain than traditional nasal packing when stopping a nosebleed. About 40 adults with active nosebleeds that won't stop with simple pressure will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. Pain levels and how quickly bleeding stops will be measured 24 hours later.
