Nose knows first? study tests if new sensor spots oxygen drops faster than finger
NCT ID NCT06398262
Summary
This study tested a new oxygen monitor that clips to the nose instead of the finger. Researchers wanted to see if the nose sensor works as well as or better than the standard finger sensor, especially during and after major surgery. They compared the two sensors on 56 patients having abdominal surgery and also asked nurses for their feedback on using the new device.
