First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested whether a lower dose of the medicine norepinephrine (0.07 mcg/kg/min) works as well as a higher dose (0.1 mcg/kg/min) to prevent dangerously low blood pressure in elderly patients having hip surgery with spinal anesthesia. 84 patients aged 65 and older took part. The goal was to find a dose that keeps blood pressure stable while reducing side effects like high blood pressure or slow heart rate.
