Poles apart: study tests if nordic walking beats regular walks for seniors

NCT ID NCT07158931

Summary

This study compared Nordic walking (using poles) to traditional walking to see which is better for improving strength, balance, and quality of life in older adults. 28 inactive people aged 65-80 were split into two groups and walked three times a week for 12 weeks under a physiotherapist's guidance. Researchers measured changes in leg strength, walking endurance, balance, fear of falling, and overall well-being.
