First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special brush coated with a protein gel (enamel matrix derivative) can improve gum healing in people with severe periodontitis. Forty adults with deep gum pockets around their back teeth will receive the brush treatment on one side of the mouth and the brush alone on the other side. The goal is to reduce bleeding, pocket depth, and improve attachment levels over 12 weeks.
