New brush and gel combo tested to fight severe gum disease

Summary
This study is testing if adding a special gel to a deep-cleaning procedure works better for treating severe gum disease around back teeth. Forty adults with advanced gum disease will have one side of their mouth treated with the new brush-and-gel combination and the other side with the brush alone. Researchers will measure gum health 12 weeks later to see which treatment helps more.
