Multiple sessions may boost gum treatment success
NCT ID NCT07272980
First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether splitting non-surgical gum cleaning into three sessions works better than doing it all at once for people with severe gum disease. 48 non-smoking adults with advanced periodontitis were randomly assigned to one of the two treatments and followed for 6 months. Researchers measured gum pocket depth, bleeding, and infection markers to see which approach leads to better healing.
