New brush and antibiotic rinse could fight dental implant infections without surgery

NCT ID NCT06695559

Summary

This study tested a non-surgical method to treat mild infections around dental implants, aiming to avoid more invasive surgery. 40 participants with these infections were randomly assigned to have their implants cleaned with a special biodegradable brush, with or without an added antibiotic rinse. Researchers measured gum health and bone levels over six months to see if the antibiotic rinse provided extra benefit.
