Could a simple tear test predict a serious eye condition?
NCT ID NCT07472062
Summary
This study aims to create a simple, non-invasive test to identify which patients with an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) are at risk of developing Graves' eye disease. Researchers are analyzing blood and tear samples from 90 participants to find biological markers that signal this risk. The goal is to allow for earlier, more personalized advice and monitoring to potentially prevent or lessen the severity of the eye condition.
