First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a non-invasive technique called Remote Ischemic Conditioning (RIC) in 49 people having free flap breast reconstruction. RIC involves briefly inflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm to improve blood flow and protect tissues. The goal was to see if it reduces damage from lack of blood flow and helps the new breast tissue heal better.
