Zapping heart trouble without surgery: new trial tests 15-Minute radiation fix
NCT ID NCT05047198
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-invasive radiation treatment against the current standard surgery for a dangerous, fast heart rhythm called ventricular tachycardia (VT). It aims to see if a 15-minute outpatient radiation session can control VT as well as or better than a long, invasive catheter procedure, especially for high-risk patients. The goal is to reduce painful shocks from implanted defibrillators and improve quality of life with a simpler treatment.
