Shining a light on fluid needs: new device could reduce invasive ICU tests

NCT ID NCT07298720

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive device that uses light on a patient's forearm to measure blood flow. The goal is to see if this simple test can accurately predict whether a critically ill patient in the ICU needs more intravenous fluids. Researchers will compare the light-based measurements to the standard, more invasive method currently used.
