No-Needle heart monitoring for kids shows promise
NCT ID NCT07583680
First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new, non-invasive method to estimate central venous pressure (a key measure of heart function) in children aged 0-17 with heart failure. Instead of using a standard internal catheter, researchers will gently press on a forearm vein with a sensor and use ultrasound to measure blood flow. The goal is to see if this simple, painless approach gives accurate results, which could lead to safer monitoring for young patients in the future.
