New ultrasound device could replace risky needle procedure for kids
NCT ID NCT06885073
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests a new, non-invasive device that uses ultrasound to estimate central venous pressure in children, avoiding the need for a catheter inserted into a vein. About 100 children who already have a catheter as part of their care will also be measured with the new device to see if it is safe and works well. The goal is to reduce risks like infection and injury that can come with the standard invasive method.
