New ultrasound method for leg artery disease tested

NCT ID NCT05689190

First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a non-invasive ultrasound technique can accurately measure blood flow in people with lower extremity arterial disease (LEAD). 29 patients scheduled for a leg artery procedure had their blood flow measured with both ultrasound and standard X-ray imaging. The goal was to see if the ultrasound results matched the standard method, which could lead to a safer, less invasive way to monitor the disease.
