Summary

This study tests a software tool called NOCISCAN that uses special MRI scans to help doctors tell which discs in the lower back are actually causing pain. About 300 adults who are already planning back surgery will take part. The goal is to see if using NOCISCAN leads to better pain relief after surgery compared to standard care.
