New scan aims to end guesswork in back pain surgery

NCT ID NCT06661850

Summary

This study is testing a new software tool called NOCISCAN that analyzes MRI scans to help doctors identify exactly which spinal discs are causing a patient's chronic low back pain. The goal is to see if using this tool to guide treatment decisions leads to better pain relief and surgical outcomes one year later. The trial will involve 300 adults who are already planning to have surgery for their back pain.
