New pain monitor tested for nerve block success during surgery

Summary

This study looks at whether a special monitor can tell if a nerve block is working during arm surgery. 45 adults having upper extremity surgery will have the monitor on both arms to measure pain signals. The goal is to find a better way to confirm nerve block effectiveness in patients under anesthesia.
