New combo therapy shows promise for stroke arm weakness
NCT ID NCT04913506
First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a small electrical device on the arm while doing mirror therapy helps people with hemiplegia (weakness on one side) recover better than mirror therapy or electrical stimulation alone. 42 adults with stable, subacute hemiplegia took part. Researchers measured arm movement, pain, thinking skills, and daily activities. The goal was to see if combining these two simple therapies gives extra benefit.
