First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested if a gentle electrical stimulation called NMES can improve swallowing in children with cerebral palsy who have trouble eating. 26 children participated, some receiving real NMES and others a sham treatment. Researchers measured changes in swallowing ability and muscle activity to see if NMES helps make feeding safer and easier.
