Immune cells injected into tumors show promise for skin cancer

NCT ID NCT07144384

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests whether injecting special immune cells called natural killer (NK) cells directly into skin cancer tumors is safe and can help kill the cancer. It compares two types of NK cells—standard ones and a more powerful type from donors exposed to a common virus. About 40 adults with basal or squamous cell skin cancer will receive the injections before their standard surgery.
