Laughing gas trial aims to ease vasectomy fears

NCT ID NCT07245628

Summary

This study is testing if letting patients breathe a low dose of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) themselves during a vasectomy can make the experience less stressful and painful. It will compare the gas to a placebo (oxygen) in 50 men undergoing the procedure in a clinic. The main goal is to see if it reduces anxiety and pain during the surgery and makes the process easier for both the patient and the doctor.
