New gel aims to stop dangerous complication after common medical procedure
NCT ID NCT07083063
Summary
This study is testing if applying a nitroglycerin gel directly to a small muscle during a procedure called ERCP can prevent a painful complication called pancreatitis. ERCP is used to remove gallstones from the bile duct, but it can accidentally inflame the pancreas. Researchers will enroll 440 adults to see if the gel reduces this risk compared to standard care.
