Hunt for clues in rare brain disease
NCT ID NCT00344331
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to measure Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC), a rare and fatal genetic brain disease, to help test future treatments. It will observe 900 people with NPC over time, using tests like blood draws, spinal taps, and brain scans to track how the disease changes. The study does not test any new treatments; it only gathers information to help design future treatment trials.
