Moms become nurses: new program transforms stressful NICU stays for premature babies
NCT ID NCT06958458
Summary
This study tested a program called Family Integrated Care, which teaches and supports mothers to be active caregivers for their premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Researchers wanted to see if this hands-on involvement reduced mothers' stress and helped them bond better with their infants. The trial included 60 first-time mothers whose babies were born very early and were hospitalized in the NICU.
