Scientists test if nicotine pouches put your heart at risk
NCT ID NCT07057440
Summary
This study investigated whether nicotine pouches—smokeless tobacco products marketed as less harmful alternatives—affect heart function and circulation. Researchers measured heart rate, blood pressure, and electrical heart activity (ECG) in 20 adult nicotine users after they used different strength nicotine pouches. The goal was to understand potential health risks, since these products can contain high nicotine levels but their specific effects on the heart weren't well studied.
