New gel shows promise in shrinking painful skin tumors

NCT ID NCT05005845

Summary

This study tested whether a gel called NFX-179 could safely reduce the size of skin tumors in adults with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). 199 participants applied the gel or a placebo to 10 specific tumors on their face, chest, or arms once daily for six months. Researchers measured changes in tumor size and monitored for side effects to see if the treatment was effective and safe.
