First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at 128 older adults (60+) having knee replacement surgery to see if a protein called neurofilament light chain (NFL) in the blood is linked to how sensitive they are to the sedative remazolam. Researchers measured time to lose consciousness, awakening time, and side effects. The goal is to help anesthesiologists better tailor sedation for elderly patients.
