New eye scanner could sharpen cataract surgery

Summary

This study is testing a new device called Helioscope that measures the shape and size of the eye in people with cataracts. The goal is to improve how doctors calculate the right lens implant for cataract surgery. About 100 adults with cataracts will have their eyes measured with this new scanner. The results will help develop better software for planning surgery.
