Massive trial tests new Super-Pill against worms in 20,000 kids

NCT ID NCT06282315

Summary

This large study aims to see if a new combination pill (albendazole plus ivermectin) is safe and works better than the current standard pill (albendazole alone) for treating common intestinal worm infections in school-aged children. The trial will involve about 20,000 children in Ghana and Kenya, who will receive a single dose of medicine as part of a school-based treatment program. Researchers will closely monitor for side effects and check if the new pill is more effective at clearing the infections.
